I've been playing on the test server for a long time (using my own KSSN, mind you).
Epic 4 the best installment yet. It is very well balanced, favouring diversity in parties, over specialization. Every class has it's place. Here are some notes and comments I've had on various classes, as well as a look into the new "must have" classes for dungeon parties;
Cleric: MP problems at low levels. New offensive spells are nice, however the lack of MP makes them unusable. With a combination of INT and STR Soul Stones, Clerics' MP is managable. 2nd Job Clerics have no MP problems at all, given that a Deva Knight/Soldier is tanking. (Must have #1)
Holy Warrior: Holding threat is no longer an issue. Provoke is the Holy Grail of a threat skills. Extremely low MP consumption, fast cooldown and high threat, this is the long awaited "once is enough" threat skill. A new set of stun skills, along with very noticable HP/PDEF also make it the ideal candidate for tanking. (Must have #2)
Magician: Same as Epic 3, early MP problems cause problems. At later levels, their spells make them the most devastating damage dealers of Epic 4. Fire Slap has been replaced with the nearly overpowered Fire Arrow, an insta-cast, low MP alternative. THe most notable improvement is the addition of ATK SPD buffs for the party. Clerics can no longer provide Bless Assault, and this is where Magicians a must have class. (Must have #3)
Striders: The largest amount of complaints from Healers and other party members are usually directed at 2nd Job Assassin Striders. Although the 2nd Job Shadow Ranger is a formidable damage dealer, as well as one of the best PvP'ers, the Assassin tends to fall short on damage dealing. The "Agi Build" is simply not an option anymore, making Striders all but useless as tankers. 4-5 hits from a dungeon mob and you'll be reaching for your res scrolls.
Kahuna: Extremely important for running parties. Kahuna's are now the only class with a MOV SPD buff. Without it, parties have a very difficult time getting to party locations. Their buffs now stack with Clerics', as well as their bubble. AoE Wind Gust literally mows down dugeon bosses. They are actually quite strong as damage dealers. (Must have #4)
Fighters: Vagrants deserve and honorable mention for tanking ability. They are fantastic damage dealers, and bowmen are possibly the strongest PvP'ers in Epic 4. Althougn their PDEF is nowhere near Deva Warriors', they do still have 2nd highest PDEF. Dual Axes own you.
Pet Classes: At the moment, pet skills have not been implemented on the test server. As such, it is very hard to tell much. Breeder's pets are extremely strong with Shinning Claw. Spell Singers with Dual Axes cause a lot of damage. Summoners... fall short.
